Apartment found, electric turned on, Cablevision scheduled to move my internet hookup, new landlord getting a FiOS DVR for me, and I'm exhausted already from packing/throwing out 16 years of accumulated crap..

Not a bad turn around considering it's only been 6 days since my landlord of the past 16 years told me he needed the apartment back. Amazing coincidence is that the first of only 2 responses I got to look at places this weekend was not only the one I ended up taking, but turned out to be a childhood friend of my landlord (they both got married together in Italy a few decades ago!). Having the endorsement of my soon to be ex-landlord gave me quite an edge with the new one, and the new place is so much better as well with more closet space than I have actual space now!

Was thinking about getting a FiOS account for the internet, the dedicated bandwidth is a huge advantage with heavy traffic setups, but with the requirement for a contract, the fees that they tack on, only a slight performance upgrade for a higher price, and with them being Verizon (dishonesty takes on a new meaning when dealing with them - been there, done that), I'll stick with my over 10 year old OptOnline account.

I am pretty pumped up about getting a decent TV service for a change - I'll actually get to see TV listings when I hit the Guide button, instead of waiting 8-12 seconds to then see the option to then try to get to the listings. I have a friend who switched from Cablevision to FiOS and it was a night and day difference on many channels, noticeably much better.

Good thing is that with me paying the electric, I don't have to worry about hiding the portable washer/dryer I have, and the A/C can stay on as much as I want :-p

Now I just need to buy some actual furniture, since I have actual rooms now ;-)

I hope they'll let me wall-mount my TV, otherwise I'm gonna have to buy a stand with a built-in mount (buying a floor sample sometimes has it's drawbacks, but I can't complain about the TV - one of the best things I bought in the past few years)

Ok, enough rambling :p

Been there, done that. Twice in one year... Moved out of Puyallup a couple of years back into my own place, and enjoyed it for ten months. Then my landlady called and said there was a two bedroom unit available, and reminded me that my mother had told her that I had a semi-homeless brother. So I had to move. Again.
